Who are we?

Dr. Sedona Murphy

Sedona graduated with a PhD in genetics from Stanford University in 2023. She worked in the lab of Dr. Alistair Boettiger to understand the unique properties of polycomb-mediated genome organization and how epigenetic systems can leverage genome organization to promote memory and cell-state stability. She is currently a Yale School of Medicine Science Fellow in the department of Cell Biology where she will be researching how epigenetic systems encode memory through 3D genome organization in a cell-type dependent manner to fine-tune developmental timing. Sedona is passionate about mentorship and science and hopes to leave academia a better place than she found it. When not in the lab she can likely be found adopting stray animals.

She may not have eyes, but that doesn’t stop her from living her best life!!!!
